Bilingual Senior Wire Specialist

The Senior Wire Specialist is responsible for processing advanced/complex wire transactions for customers and ensuring procedures are completed in a timely manner and accordance with federal regulations and Bank policy. The work of this position is time sensitive and governed by internal and regulatory compliance guidelines. Assists in performing duties of the Wire Transfer Coordinator when the volume is heavy and will serve as the backup in their absence.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Processes the more advanced/complex wire transactions for customers using the domestic wire transfer system; handles the complicated queues: NSF, callback, specify, confirm/notify, OFACIN/OFACOUT; ensures all wires are processed in a timely manner while ensuring proper debiting and crediting of DDA and general ledger accounts and are in compliance with federal regulations, Bank Secrecy Act, as well as bank policy; notifies appropriate party of suspicious activity.
  2. Ensures all required customer agreements are in place according to Bank guidelines; resolves bank wires issues and inquiries; May assist in setting up funds transfer agreements, which includes setting up schedules/repetitive/sweep wires, internal authorization forms, issuing PIN numbers, ensuring agreements are in accordance with federal regulations and bank policy, clearing daily suspense, auditing daily reports regarding Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and force exception.
  3. Provides Customer Service to all internal and external customers by problem solving and/or providing information on issues such as payment orders, laws and regulations, deadlines, subpoena requests and/or customer inquiries.
  4. May coordinate the daily workflow which includes determining work priorities; schedules, assisting in training, and evaluating work performance, ensuring quality of work is in accordance with bank/regulatory compliance. May also troubleshoot regarding domestic wire transfer/ archive/automated fax systems, suspense general ledger reporting, customer profile set up, complies with external customer funds transfer agreement and audit requirements; processes internal authorization forms, set-ups for sweep/schedule/repetitive wires; ensures daily production is completed in accordance with Bank/regulatory compliance guidelines.
  5. May assist in serving as a liaison between Bank technical personnel and third-party vendors or Federal Reserve when system upgrades, conversions occur; assists in resolving problems with software systems and equipment; resolves errors effecting customer accounts expeditiously; communicates problems with software systems and equipment to management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of wire transfer systems and peripheral equipment, wire terminology and acronyms
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable state/federal regulatory compliance regarding wire transfer processing, deadlines, UCC rules
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles in order to understand debits/credits
  • Ability to provide team leadership, motivate employees to facilitate training
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Good interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills, problem resolution and customer relation skills
  • Good PC skills and software applications such as word processing and spreadsheet
  • Working knowledge of bank operations preferred
  • General knowledge of Federal Regulations preferred: Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Assets and Control, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Sarbanes Oxley
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in Business and 2-3 years experience in wire transfer or 5-6 years equivalent experience in a related environment.
