The ACH Technical Coordinator is primarily responsible for ensuring the timely receipt and routing of incoming Automated Clearing House (ACH) origination files which include Payroll, Tax and Debit/Credit files; balances exceptions for the previous day; processes all electronic transmissions; distributes reports to appropriate personnel; communicates daily with commercial customers and bank personnel concerning ACH processing.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Monitors approximately all ACH file transmissions from approximately all commercial ACH customers to Fidelity by verifying file totals by matching files to received via Move IT Central, NetConnect, or direct send (FTP) to Fidelity mailboxes to faxes and emails from customers; communicates with FIS daily to resolve erroneous files; responsible for signing off on event jobs with FIS to start batch processing; monitors the ACH processing windows to verify all files have processed properly; works with external customers to ensure all files are processed accurately and by the requested effective date; answers and resolves questions surrounding processed files and any other ACH customer service issues; ensures all window processing is complete by the established timeline to ensure timeliness of entries to the Federal Reserve.
  2. Responsible for identifying the suspended ACH files; determining their reason for suspension (i.e. Risk, Prefund, Default, or duplicate files). Makes a determination on whether the file will need to be reset or will require approval from the account officer and their supervisor. Communicates with account officers for override approval and works with internal customer support to secure funds for the file; responsible for releasing ACH files upon received approval.
  3. Pulls file and item deletion and reversal requests; determines if they are within the processing guidelines and processes the request accordingly; researches file settlement issues, previous reversals/deletions and assists with clients to troubleshoot NACHA file issues to determine formatting errors and instructs what action steps need to be taken to correct the file.
  4. Pulls the NetConnect audit log to ensure all files have been approved and has been transmitted to the Bank from Intuit; verifies IAT files processed out of the 2000 processing window and communicates any issues to the Supervisor, matches off Co-Bank totals to the log sheet.
  5. Communicates operational needs to supervisor such as software, equipment, or supplies; assists in resolving problems with software applications and equipment; resolves errors effecting customer accounts expeditiously; communicates problems with systems and equipment to supervisor and management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Thorough knowledge of ACH Operating Guidelines processing and related Fed and NACHA regulations
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principals and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of PEP+, NetConnect, Synergy, and other bank systems
  • Advanced PC and software application skills including spreadsheet and word processing
  • Good typing skills and the ability to use 10 key by touch
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate courteously and effectively to all levels of management and external customers
  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation is preferred but not required
This level of knowledge is normally attained through completion of a High School Diploma and 3-5 years experience in ACH.
