The Bilingual Senior Teller is primarily responsible for providing the highest form of client service by consistently identifying opportunities to generate referrals while performing routine teller transactions such as receipt, disbursement, and recording of monies while maintaining service standards and transaction responsibilities. The Float Senior Teller is cross-trained to assist clients by offering bank products and services while maintaining service standards and transaction responsibilities.

  1. Receives and processes checking and savings account deposits; provides customers with transaction records; provides customer with account balances; accepts loan payments, completed check orders and safe deposit payments; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds; validates items by entering through teller terminal.
  2. Cashes checks and processes checking and savings account withdrawals within prescribed cash limits.
  3. Greets customers and establishes a quality customer service environment; answers questions and suggests appropriate actions to meet the customer's banking needs.
  4. Identifies opportunities to refer bank products/services to new and existing customers by identifying problems, needs and opportunities; identifies customer’s needs and refers to the appropriate line of business.
  5. Discusses and identifies financial needs with client to develop profile; sells a full range of retail products/services such as deposit accounts, retail loan services, credit cards, safe deposit boxes; opens new deposit accounts; originates and closes retail loans and small business loans/lines up to $100,000.
  6. Processes fee income entries for money orders, cashier’s checks, traveler’s checks, check cashing, etc. to generate fee income for the branch.
  7. Balances and reports teller transactions daily, in accordance with standard procedures.
  8. Additional customer maintenance duties such as resolving a variety of simple to complex customer problems, account balance discrepancies and account inquiries.

  • Working knowledge of bank operations and/or retail sales operations
  • Basic knowledge of consumer lending and regulatory requirements
  • Good sales skills both in person and via telephone
  • Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to count and make accurate change transactions
  • Good communication skills with the ability to effectively and courteously gain information from individuals/customers by asking appropriate questions
  • Good PC and 10 key skills
  • Good customer service skills both in person and via telephone
  • Must pass Teller Mastery Assessment with a minimum score of 80 before being assigned a teller drawer
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school and a minimum of one (1) year of teller experience or equivalent work experience/education experience which may include cash handling, accounting, balancing, budgeting, bookkeeping, business management, or customer service. Candidate must meet minimum language requirements in designated second language.
