The Institutional Wealth Relationship Manager IV is primarily responsible for the overall client relationship management of the Department’s most complex and largest institutional client accounts. In addition, the Relationship Manager IV is responsible for identifying opportunities to cross sell additional financial services to existing and prospective clients. Generally will require little direct supervision.

  1. Effectively manages the relationships of existing clients to ensure retention. Manages a significant portfolio of accounts that includes the largest and most complex accounts of the Department. Calls on client contacts and high-level decision makers. Anticipates service needs and communicates enhancements. Resolves any questions or issues presented by clients or their providers. Reviews and negotiates new account documentation and may provide managerial support to other Relationship Managers.
  2. Manages all services provided to the client by the Department. Coordinates services provided by other areas of Bank, including Wealth Management Services, Portfolio Management, Strategic Investment Advisory, Mineral Management, and Tax.
  3. Maintains and where possible improves profitability for assigned account relationships; reviews fee schedules; negotiates fee increases; analyzes and evaluates fees and profitability of accounts.
  4. Ensures assigned accounts are in compliance with Wealth Management Group and Departmental policies and procedures, ERISA, governmental laws and regulations, and internal and external audit requirements; promotes operational efficiency and consistency; ensures each client is operating within Bank standards.
  5. Develops new business from existing clients through the identification of cross-sale opportunities for other Wealth Management products and services; develops and maintains collaborative business efforts between the client and other disciplines within the Bank; participates in community and professional activities in order to enhance the Bank’s image and expands personal network of business contacts for the development of referral business.

  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices and principles in order to effectively evaluate the needs of institutional clients
  • Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements of ERISA and related IRS regulations and an in-depth and thorough understanding of the principles and practices of participant recordkeeping for defined contribution plans and /or extensive knowledge of bond trustee law and regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of investments, including different types of strategies and styles
  • Advanced experience in use of software applications, including expertise in various word processing and spreadsheet applications, as well as Web-based systems utilized internally and externally
  • Must have excellent oral, written and communication skills, including interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills including presenting in front of a group
  • Proven ability to analyze highly complex information and data in order to develop and recommend solutions in challenging projects
  • Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years related experience or 16+ years equivalent experience.
