The Specialty Asset Analyst II provides operational support along with research and problem solving services under general supervision, in the administration of a substantial & complex portfolio within a given segment of non-financial assets, i.e. life insurance, minerals, notes and mortgages, real estate, and closely-held businesses.  Works with Specialty Asset Managers to partner with Account Officers, Portfolio Managers, and external professionals to provide comprehensive solutions to complex customer needs throughout the United States.


  1. Maintains asset information within the specialty asset database; researches asset status and ownership questions, and analyzes performance data. Interacts with operational and support partners on asset maintenance, problem resolution, and general service delivery.
  2. Performs both basic and complex administrative activities, which may include tasks related to account opening, report assembly, asset set-up, and data entry. Utilizes third-party research platforms for information gathering required for day to day tasks. Assists with account due diligence.
  3. Monitors both basic and complex fee processing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reviews and prepares title documentation, deeds, leases, mortgages, notes and other records.
  4. Coordinates client meetings and communicates to clients, third-party professionals, department staff, and business line partners on a routine basis. Provides active support role on account reviews and projects, including general research, project tracking, and standards compliance. Provides routine support to Specialty Asset Managers affecting account business and department functionality. Initiates transactions and disbursements of funds utilizing cash accounting systems. Communicates with bank personnel on status of account transactions.


  • Moderate knowledge of contracts, real property, and title instruments.
  • Moderate PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Working knowledge of trust operations and trust accounting systems.
  • Working knowledge of asset management systems and third-party information and research platforms.
  • Advanced communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Requires strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan and coordinate large number of ongoing tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices and fiduciary practices and responsibilities.
  • Strong math and analytical skills with ability to improve efficiency, track complex activities and improve methodology.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of at least an Associate’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent and 2-3 years operations experience, preferably within a trust, legal or investment environment or 5-6 years equivalent experience and/or training.
