The ACH Balance Clerk II is primarily responsible for the daily balancing of multiple electronic files originated through various ACH methods and balancing transactions received from the Fed. This position will also research and reconcile all outages; make DD and general ledger entries for rejects, various daily entries, and settlement entries for default files; perform daily Fed entries for utilizing MSAS and General Money; research Prepaid Legal returned paper DTC's; compile and calculate Account Analysis totals for corporate customers’ transactions and files; balance and prepare BOK’s ICAP Report for general ledger account; balance general ledger entries including money suspense debit/credit entries for all three banks; communicate with other units of the bank to research and resolves ACH related outages.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provides daily balancing of multiple electronic files originated through various ACH methods; balances transactions received from the Fed which are processed through the Pep+ system for Bank of Arkansas; Bank of Albuquerque, and Bank of Texas; researches and reconciles all outages; makes DD and general ledger entries for rejects, various daily entries, and settlement entries for default files; makes daily Fed entries for utilizing MSAS and General Money.
  2. Researches outstanding items for resolution, which involves working with vendors, systems personnel both internal and external, and other units of the bank; assists in providing customer service functions and other support functions for co-workers in the area.
  3. Researches Prepaid Legal returned paper DTC's to determine return issue and provide associated Banks with applicable routing numbers; assists ACH customers by researching outages and answering ACH questions pertaining to settlement accounts, reversal and returns.
  4. Compiles and calculates Account Analysis totals for corporate customers’ originating ACH transactions and files throughout the month; inputs totals into Account Analysis system the first four working days of the month.
  5. Balances and prepares ICAP Report for Pep-In-Suspense general ledger account and Pep Reject Suspense general ledger account for Bank of Oklahoma. Balances and prepares ICAP Report for Due From BOK general ledger account and subsidiary ledger daily.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of return time processing and related Fed and NACHA regulations
  • Good decision making and problem solving skills to effectively resolve customer issues
  • Excellent PC and software application skills and data transfer techniques
  • Good typing skills and the ability to use 10 key by touch
  • Good communication skills; ability to communicate courteously and effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
This level of knowledge is normally attained through completion of a High School Diploma and 2-3 years accounting experience preferably in banking and 6 hours of college level accounting.
