The Corporate Investments & Acquisitions Associate is primarily responsible for the analysis of private equity and mezzanine debt investment opportunities. Key responsibilities include preparing financial models and supporting analyses that incorporate findings from due diligence, discussions with senior leadership and industry research.

The group has executed 19 platform investments since its inception in late 2007.  In addition, the group has closed more than 20 follow-on investments to fund acquisition and organic growth opportunities.


  1. Analyze new private equity and mezzanine debt investment opportunities .
  2. Perform business and financial due diligence for prospective new investments, including preparation of financial models, industry research, and competitor analysis; develop investment memorandums; participate in presentations to senior leadership.
  3. Monitor and manage existing portfolio company relationships, including the review and analysis of current financial statements, budgets, and projections; compile reports to monitor investment quality and compliance with policy / regulation.
  4. Coordinate internal monitoring and reporting requirements. Support internal marketing strategy and coordination of effort across business segments and geographies.


  • Advanced  financial statement analysis including earnings, cash flow, balance sheet, credit and equity/valuation analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Advanced understanding of investment and acquisition underwriting, documentation, policy, and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and application of financial concepts including NPV, IRR, financial valuation and risk measurement
  • Ability to evaluate potential investment and acquisition opportunities and provide initial recommendations
  • Understanding of risk and varying ways to structure investments
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver concise and persuasive oral and written reports and presentations
  • Exceptional proficiency in financial modeling, word processing and presentation software applications, specifically within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in a private equity, investment banking, transaction services or a commercial lending environment; or 8+ years equivalent experience. Financial certifications like CPA, CFA, etc. are strongly desired.
