The EB Consumer Product Specialist I is primarily responsible for retaining and expanding client relationships via inbound and outbound telephone and e-mail contact, as well as and chat and secure messaging. This individual is responsible for achieving established production goals and financial results within ExpressBank. The Specialist will work with clients to fully understand their financial needs and make appropriate recommendations to help them reach their financial goals by offering appropriate consumer products as solutions in a manner that builds client trust and loyalty. This individual utilizes knowledge from the Consumer product suite, Consumer Banking lending processes and practices, as well as their own experience presenting solutions to consumer clients.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Discusses and identifies needs with the client or prospective client to develop an overall financial assessment; provides recommendation on a full range of retail products/services such as deposit accounts, retail loan services, business accounts, and credit cards. Opens new deposit accounts including the completion of electronic funding for initial deposits; originates retail loans and small business loans/lines up to $400,000; meets or exceeds established department production objectives. Handles an extremely high number of active loan and account applications at one time requiring a high degree of organization, planning and task management.
  2. Resolves a variety of simple to complex client problems (i.e., account balance discrepancies, multiple account linkages/combined statements, unauthorized transaction claims, debit card problems, digital banking issues, installment loan payoff discrepancies, etc.). Accepts stop payment requests; processes requests for funds transfers, loan/line of credit payments, address changes and account research for clients, often under difficult and/or stressful circumstances. Uses available resources for problem resolution. Must be knowledgeable of and able to navigate through numerous consumer support systems.
  3. Offers a full range of consumer banking services to existing and potential clients through proactive techniques in order to promote new business; targets clients through extensive profile research; identifies and calls on existing or prospective clients; recognizes prospects and obtains appointments utilizing outbound telemarketing telephone techniques; utilizes basic needs assessment techniques to match client/prospect with appropriate products and services. Proactively Identifies opportunities to refer client to other banking specialists including BOK Financial Services BOK Mortgage, Treasury Services, Trust and Commercial.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Strong knowledge of bank operations and/or retail sales operations
  • Strong knowledge of consumer lending and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of bank operations, contact center operations or retail sales/service environment
  • Excellent product presentation skills, especially via telephone/e-mail/chat
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time and tasks under high-volume situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to gain information from individuals/clients
  • Good interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in real-time via chat
  • Working PC application skills including word processing and spreadsheet packages and other various systems
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school degree or equivalent and a minimum of 1 – 3 years of sales or customer service experience; a college degree is a plus.
