The IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for being the data and process expert of critical components of the Project Management Office including but not limited to the following: Project and Portfolio Management Tool, Project Management Methodology, including planning, auditing and tracking as initiatives move through the project pipeline.  You will be part of a team that is relied upon for agility and data integrity and your output will be used to make critical portfolio and resource decisions. The IT Portfolio Manager works in a framework with five key areas that help support our strong IT organization: (1) Strategy, (2) Project Execution, (3) Non-Stop Operations/Fiscal Discipline, (4) Process Improvement/Governance and (5) Talent.  In addition to the above framework we place a high value on technology investment with it being one of the top goals for BOK Financial.

We’re looking for someone like this…

  • In-depth knowledge of portfolio management methodologies and tools, including prioritization, optimization, monitoring and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, phase gate processes and auditing techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) software administration, including creating templates, dashboard and reports at resource, project and portfolio levels.  (Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft Oracle and/or HP PPM tools a plus)
  • Thorough knowledge of building automated reports and Power Point presentations
  • Thorough knowledge developing automated reporting, presentations and custom dashboards accessing a PPM database
  • Thorough knowledge of auditing project deliverables at critical gates
  • Advanced experience reconciling project financials across work-in-process, invoices, accruals and forecasting
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and extensive experience creating process documentation
  • Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations
  • Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, business Adminstration, or related discipline with an information technology focus and 7+ years experience working in a Project Office.  With so many transforming technology projects in flight and varying degrees of complexity, we are interested in all level of expertise. Prior experience within information technology and financial services is preferred but not required.


Here’s what you’ll be doing…

Your primary responsibility will be successful reporting of key metrics that demonstrate project and portfolio health

  • Reviews current metrics and dashboard reporting and recommends ways to improve the time, manner and method in which they are generated.
  • Creates process documentation and user training that clearly articulates Project Management Methodologies.
  • Mastering the capabilities of the PPM tool by monitoring version releases, experimenting in the sandbox, joining user groups, responding to PMO needs and teaching BOKF users
  • Leads PMO audits of project documentation between Phase Gate Reviews and at project closure
  • Contributes to annual planning process and drives rigor in project financial reconciliation, forecasting and reporting
