The Risk Analyst will be primarily responsible in performing analysis, planning, testing, documentation, data reconciliation, reporting, assisting senior level consultants and business lines in the assigned risk department.

  1. Consult with business and operational areas to develop and maintain plans and strategies to decrease risk in alignment with program policies, standards and procedures. Actively involved in department documentation, reporting, and metrics. Very integrated in data quality and business updates within the associated application(s).
  2. Participation in projects as the assigned risk team member. Gather information for auditor and regulator requests. Assist with incident management support and facilitation as needed.
  3. Document and/or conduct third party assessments and contract reviews of vendors according to program policies, standards and procedures. Assist in the development of training materials, assists with conducting training in a small classroom setting and help construct communications to ensure employees understand their related plans, roles and responsibilities.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of current business and risk planning techniques, methodologies, and best practices and how they can be applied to the financial industry
  • Working understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements that apply to the Financial Services industry
  • Strong consulting and interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of organizational and project management skills; ability to plan, coordinate and direct the testing of business continuity plans
  • Working knowledge of information technology and business process understanding
  • Proficient PC skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business continuity management systems
  • Knowledge of banking operations and procedures preferred
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in crisis management, business administration, risk management or related field or 2 years related experience or 5 years equivalent experience.Preferred: Courses, certifications, committee or board membership in any of the various areas of Risk Management.
