The Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting tasks in the areas of accounting operations, reconciliation, and reporting. This position generally reviews information from sources throughout BOK Financial and its subsidiaries, and performs or reviews month-end close activities, accounting reconciliations, and journal entries, as well as performs research and implements accounting or process improvements.


  1. Performs month-end close responsibilities, and/or related period-end reporting and assistance to management. This typically includes coordination and reconciliation of account balances for accounts that track complex business activity, as well as reporting internally for management reports or externally for regulatory governing bodies.
  2. Performs projects requiring research of accounting and process information, and implements solutions working under limited supervision. Provides guidance and direction to various areas of the bank when accounting-related errors are found, and ensures that the correction of such errors occur as necessary, with the help of management.
  3. Prepares daily or monthly reconciliations of asset, liability, and/or equity accounts; initiates journal entries to record transactions as appropriate; monitors and resolves reconciling items as appropriate. Performs mild data entry of accounting-related information, such as account balances, invoices, or reconciling items. Reviews the accuracy of certain accounting-related information, such as amounts, contract terms, or proper approvals.
  4. Responds to internal or external inquiries about general ledger reconciliation and operational activity.
  5. Assists with supervisory responsibilities as needed. This may include directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules.


  • Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Moderate ability to research and understand technical accounting topics
  • Financial services industry experience preferred
  • CPA preferred or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
  • Excellent PC skills including spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications; ability to operate a 10 key by touch
  • Effective communication skills in order to explain accounting concepts and resolve problems
  • Effective problem-solving skills in order to identify and resolve discrepancies

Preferred experience in the following:  real and personal property tax filings, unclaimed property filings, sales and use tax filings, and leasing.


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and 6 years related accounting experience in progressive accounting roles.
