The Senior Network Engineer – DR is a multi-threaded role critical to both operational and project level initiatives for BOK Financial’s corporate data and voice networks.  This position is essential to implement these critical services, leveraging world-class technologies, which enable BOK Financial to deliver premier financial products to customers nation-wide. This individual is responsible to execute projects, optimize the network infrastructure, and provide expertise and skills to resolve any operational issues resulting from network outages or overall network performance.  Teams with Business Continuity partners and IT experts to provide a deep level of technical expertise, working effortlessly with others as part of a diverse, cross-departmental team to implement, manage, and optimize a modern network infrastructure environment.  The Senior Network Engineer is expected to bring a forward-thinking perspective to resolve issues and modernize the environment to enhance the customer experience through continuous improvement.  This individual is key member of a larger team of Network Engineers reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure Services, but is matrixed to work with the Director, IT Disaster Recovery to ensure resiliency for critical systems.


  1. Executes the evolving multi-year network roadmap to continually advance capabilities and performance. Implements projects, systems, issues of medium- to high-complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization. Ensures the network environment is configured to support a resilient architecture for both high-availability and disaster recovery situations. Responsible to keep disaster recovery plans up-to-date, as required, and configures the network to support recovery objectives to ensure business continuity. Coordinates development and implementation of new LAN/WANs, including cabling, installation of hardware, scheduling, and evaluation of necessary hardware.
  2. Communicates with operational support teams as required, keeping them informed of incident progress and notifying them of impending changes or outages. Works closely with network architects on areas for improvement as well as solution options. Responsible for operational escalation and execution to ensure BOKF network systems are operational and available to internal and external customers to meet or exceed established SLO/SLAs. Operates independently or as part of a high-caliber team responding to support incidents, analyzing technical issues, addressing escalations, and working with technical project managers on related projects.
  3. Work closely with network architects to advance a multi-year network playbook and associated roadmap to continuously improve BOK Financial’s network performance, system resiliency and customer experience. Leverage input from internal colleagues, external provider expertise, third-party health checks, industry best practices, outputs from consulting engagements, and/or other valued sources to improve the network environment. Responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of the internal network, including customer-facing hosted infrastructure, disaster recovery, high availability, and cloud-connected technology environments.


  • A demonstrated, deep technical understanding of the latest Cisco network environment. 
  • Successful history of managing all aspects of a corporate-wide network, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, VPN Appliances, and Cisco Call Manager and Contact Center solutions. 
  • Adept at managing a variety of network technologies and associated techniques, to include:
  • Switching (Capacity Planning, SVI).
  • Routing (OSPF, BGP).
  • WAN Technology (MPLS, VPN, VRF).
  • Voice Technologies (IVR, VoIP, SIP, POTS).
  • Quality of Service (Class maps, Policies).
  • Unified Communications (softphones, telepresence, web conferencing, unified messaging, IVR, Contact Center).
  • Familiarity with VPNs, VOIP, SIP Trunking, BGP, VLAN, Large Scale Wireless deployments.
  • Demonstrated, advanced knowledge and experience with:
  • Disaster Recovery programs and best practices
  • Leveraging cloud technologies to advance DR capabilities
  • Experience working in an Active/Active data center environment supporting critical systems
  • Experience working with data center co-location partners
  • Expert understanding of the 7 layer Network OSI model.
  • Proven competency working with Cisco Network Infrastructure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with Disaster Recovery concepts and best practices in an enterprise network environment.
  • Possesses customer service attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas in a non technical way to all levels of employees.
  • Employee must be able to work independently, is self-motivated and results-oriented.  Must prioritize conflicting demands to achieve optimum service performance.
  • Adheres to company standards and methodology, confidentiality and security requirements and consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism.


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology/Science and 5-7 years of experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering, design; planning and implementation or 9-11 years work-related experience.



Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional.
