The Senior Recon Processing Clerk is primarily responsible for account reconciliation services and special handling of statements for Bank customers, ensures work is performed timely in order to meet deadlines established in the Division’s Service Level Agreement. Additionally, this position functions to interpret data to make appropriate workflow recommendations, assess training needs, process departmental reports, assist in drafting procedures, and participate on projects and conversions.

  1. Performs all duties required of ARP Clerks during absences and vacations as necessary; identifies problems/errors and ensures problem resolution; processes bank statements, researches rejected items and exceptions; monitors and coordinates Positive Pay System; receives reports for recons; review reports for required maintenance; flag items to be returned; log any problems that may occur; deliver checks to sorter room; complete log sheets; performs maintenance for recon accounts; prepares balanced statements and items for mailing.
  2. Coordinates the daily work activities of ARP personnel to ensure quantity of work and timely processing against critical deadlines.
  3. Monitors the Evision and SAND systems to ensure that all images and files have been completed; makes recommendations using the above information as to when to start the Positive Pay process.
  4. Prepares monthly management reports, such as volume and quality reports and operating statistics; assists in all other functions of Account Reconciliation.
  5. Assists on projects, conversions, and drafting of departmental procedures and performs other various duties as required by supervisor.
  6. Recommends modifications in procedures to improve operating efficiency; monitors implementation of required changes or additions to policies and procedures.
  7. Responsible for training new personnel, ensuring that production standard requirements are met and all service level agreement requirements are attained.
  8. Responsible for the set up and maintenance for recon accounts utilizing the SMS and Sand systems, ensuring that the input is completed in a timely manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of consumer and commercial statement rendering processes and bank check capture policies
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of bank operations policies and procedures
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proper application of English grammar and telephone etiquette
  • Good PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Basic Typing skills
  • 10 key by touch
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in a business related field and 2-3 years bank operations experience or 5-6 years related experience in bank operations.
