The Trade and Settlement Specialist II is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate trading and settlement of securities for Wealth Management clients including but not limited to stocks, bonds, money markets, asset backed securities, options, international trade settlement and foreign currency exchange. This position has administrative duties related to asset and mutual fund research, money market trading, and various quality controls and collateral reporting. This position has a high level of risk associated with trade execution and settlement.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Review, reconcile and post securities purchases and sales on Trust Accounting System timely and accurately. Resolve failing trades and return securities and securities collateral received in error.
  2. Analyze trade information for correct domestic and international settlement instructions, registrations, income accruals and principal factors, foreign exchange rates, call options and related collateral as well as other complex securities trade issues.
  3. Daily and extensive interaction with Trust Investments, Trust Depositories, Money Managers and Brokers, Trust Administration, Trust Tax and Money Market Vendors.
  4. Research and resolve all trade problems timely to minimize losses to bank and/or client.
  5. Ensure accurate and timely movement of funds between domestic and international depositories and institutions.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Strong working knowledge of complex securities sufficient to resolve issues quickly and timely and explain in clear and concise terms to parties involved
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems independently without prior precedent to rely on
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to improve functional efficiency and demonstrated ability to handle significant fluctuations in volumes while meeting extremely stringent deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, report writer, up and downloads, macros sufficient to produce professional business correspondence and reports
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree and 3-4 years experience in a securities processing environment or 6-7 years equivalent work related experience.
