The Trust Services Group Trust Officer I or II is primarily responsible for serving clients by implementing holistic solutions to preserve, accumulate and transfer wealth.  Responsible for maintaining the integrity and delivery of trust services, problem resolution and fiduciary administration


1. Client Service

  • Performs account administration to ensure that all accounts are administered effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with policy and procedures, governing instrument, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that the client’s investment strategy, goals, objectives, risk tolerance, tax planning and customized benchmarks are documented and carried out
  • Maintains communication with clients, beneficiaries, respective legal counsel and co-trustees or other professional service providers as appropriate, responding timely and professionally
  • Ensures discretionary distributions are completed timely and in accordance with governing instrument
  • Ensures cash held in account is managed in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Responsible for client complaint tracking and problem resolution

2. Fiduciary Oversight/Compliance

  • Diligent oversight of proper account set-up, maintenance and terminations to ensure that these processes are performed properly; ensure proper fee schedule is being applied to accounts
  • Performs administrative reviews as stated by policy and procedures
  • Responsible for gift tax administration, intergenerational wealth transfer and fiduciary issues

3. Teamwork

  • Participates in the daily work flow of the Trust Services Group team
  • Collaborates with internal business partners and specialists to ensure integrity of trust solutions for the Trust Services Group
  • Partners with other Trust Services Group Officers as a team when coverage is needed and informs them of all relevant client information, ensuring a smooth work flow among Trust Services Group
  • Participate in special projects

4. Professional Development

  • Maintain functional expertise by participating in training and educational opportunities
  • Maintain certifications by attending accredited educational forums
  • Sets personal example of commitment, responsiveness, ethics, professionalism, courtesy and appearance and may mentor other Trust Services Group Trust Officers

5. Fiduciary Acumen

  • Able to respond to difficult questions/complaints. 
  • Able to analyze and interpret documents, prepare documents for beneficiary and discretionary requests. 
  • Operates independently and may provide guidance and direction to Trust Services Group Relationship Associates and other team members


  • Must have a working knowledge of the interpretation and practical application of document provisions, probate law, taxes, investments, and the legal framework of estate and trust administration
  • Analytical ability to resolve questions arising from account administration
  • Proficient in technology such as Microsoft applications
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

 This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field or 5 years equivalent work related experience.
