Job Description

The Credit Concurrence Officer is primarily responsible for preliminary review of potential borrowers, approval of loan requests and the ongoing follow-up of existing loan relationships. This responsibility involves providing advice and counsel on proper loan structure and underwriting to bankers and their managers and regulatory compliance. Responsibility also includes partnering with Senior Credit Concurrence Officers, Special Assets Officers and the Chief Credit Officer in providing approvals, mentoring, support and direction of all credit risk management activities.  The CCO is also a member of the various loan approval committees, Corporate Credit Policy Committee, and participant in the Executive Asset Quality Committee meetings.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will provide advice and guidance to the holding company’s lending officers and department managers; consult with loan officers on more complex and larger loans.
  • You'll provide monitoring functions for the holding company’s loan portfolios to ultimately minimize losses.
  • You'll review loan requests as delegated by their manager or the Chief Credit Officer.
  • You will actively participate in meetings with the executive and other lending management to control the quality of loan portfolios, disseminate management information, review classified assets and action plans, and discuss past due loans.
  • You will aid in the coordination and development of the policies and procedures needed for operations and control of the Commercial, Private Bank, and Consumer lending functions.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting and 10+ years of commercial and/or private bank lending and underwriting, credit risk or special assets experience; 5+ years of loan approval experience in commercial and/or private banking; or 16+ years of equivalent work related experience.

 

Preferred: MBA
