Job Description

The Investment Portfolio Specialist II is primarily responsible for providing analytical support to the Portfolio Manager, identifying problems and providing solutions independently; working on special projects for the Treasurer in support of departmental objectives; management of the bank’s considerable collateral pool in order to optimize the bank’s wholesale liquidity.  This position requires extensive contact with customers, necessitating quality interpersonal skills in order to maintain positive business relationships.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will work closely with external public funds customers to ensure compliance with customer agreements while minimizing the amount of excess collateral required.
  • You will analyze the nature, utilization, and collateral availability to optimize the securities collateral pool's liquidity.
  • You will track and monitor all securities transactions to ensure proper payment and delivery.
  • You will complete daily and monthly reconciliations, verifying third-party custodian locations for securities held in the Managed Investment Portfolio.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of experience in an investment or trust securities operations environment or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
