If so, join us as a Commercial Relationship Manager. We are looking for someone with experience Banking and underwriting middle market clients. 

About the Role

Developing new business, cross-selling our services, and providing five-star client service will drive your success. You will develop in-depth knowledge of our products and services and analyze client and prospects’ needs to recommend appropriate products and services. Your knowledge of lending, credit underwriting and treasury will position you to advise our clients on solutions to protect and grow their business. 

You will assist more senior officers or department managers in handling complex loans and serve as a resource to less experienced loan officers in the areas of marketing, new business development, and loan analysis and servicing.  

You will participate in the underwriting and credit approval process, prepare credit presentations, and identify key risk factors.  You’ll obtain credit approval, negotiate terms, and document credit actions and agreements, and facilitate the resolution of operational problems for customers.

You will serve as the primary client connection within the bank, working alongside Treasury Management, Leasing, Syndications, International Services, and Cash Vault. You will represent the Bank and other financial institutions to the customer in a shared credit relationship.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will use your business savvy to identify new prospects and develop new business opportunities.
  • You will use your knowledge of our products and services to make recommendations to our clients to help them enhance their business.
  • You will use your financial acumen and analytical skills to understand data to make informed decisions.
  • You will use your credit acumen to make recommendations for deal approval, structuring loans, mitigating and identifying risk, and complying with regulations.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Generate new business and cross-sell to existing clients to produce revenue.

CREDIT ACUMEN: Help clients assess their financial needs and goals with a holistic approach. Advanced understanding of commercial lending practices and loan documentation, loan servicing requirements, credit underwriting, documentation, loan policy, and regulations. 
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: Advanced analysis to validate and analyze financial data and structure loans, including ratio, trend analysis, and regulations.
COMMUNICATION: Be an exceptional verbal and written communicator, expressing yourself clearly and concisely to internal and external clients.
RELATIONSHIP BUILDER: Leverage excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity to relate to any audience and build trust.

COLLABORATION: Enjoy working in teams and across departments with a proficiency to follow-up and follow-through.

Education & Experience Requirements

The required level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance and 5 – 7 years’ experience in a commercial lending environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial lending practices and loan documentation, and loan servicing requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated capacity to sell products/services within the financial services industry
  • Advanced understanding of credit underwriting, documentation, loan policy, and regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis including ratio and trend analysis and projections
  • Specialized knowledge of specific markets in order to serve defined territories
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations
  • Good PC skills including knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
