Job Description

The Senior Institutional Advisor is primarily responsible for asset management and consulting services for key institutional clients and sophisticated investment accounts. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:  consultation with institutional boards and committees regarding investment policies and objectives (performance objectives, strategic and tactical asset allocation targets, spending policies, risk budgeting, liquidity management, benchmark selection, etc.); discretionary management of client portfolios (manager/security selection, tactical asset allocation, rebalancing, etc.); monitoring and maintaining compliance with client policies and objectives; participation in ongoing sales and marketing efforts for prospective institutional clients; preparation and presentation of quarterly client investment reviews and reports; assisting client boards, committees and staff as needed.  This position will involve considerable client and prospect contact. The position will be responsible for special projects or duties as assigned by the Manager, Institutional Advisors. These duties could include: responsibility for monthly research and support, compliance, market reviews, or representing the department on committees and working groups. The position will also be responsible for supervision of other staff members.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You’ll manage investment portfolios or provide consulting for our institutional clients to develop investment objectives and review accounts and assets regularly and manage their investment return.
  • You’ll prepare RFP responses and prepare presentations to prospective clients and consultants and present our institutional advisory services and capabilities. 
  • You’ll communicate with client boards/committees and administrators regarding their account, investment activity and performance, and capital and marketing economic trends.
  • You’ll serve as an investment representative on various committees and special project groups.
  • You’ll assist in setting investment strategies for the institutional team and assist in the review and creation of investment policy and procedures.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business and 5-7 years of experience in portfolio management, a Master’s Degree or CFA designation or 12-14 years of equivalent work experience.
