Job Description

The Middle Office Manager-FRM (Financial Risk Management) is responsible for managing the middle office of the three business lines encompassed by FRM: Commodities Hedging, Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD) and International (FX).  Strong understanding of commodity risk products such as fixed price swaps, options, exotics, swing swaps and basis swaps as well as their use in hedging commodity price exposure is required.  Knowledge of FX and IRD products are a plus.  Experience with process audit and improvement or desire to undertake similar projects is key.  This position will interact with corporate customers in order to resolve complex problems as well as internal business partners across BOKF NA including Risk, Business Line Sales, Finance and Operations.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will implement process improvements with business line traders and IT to increase efficiencies and work on various ad-hoc projects at the direction of senior management.
  • You will manage a team of 2 analysts primarily supporting the FX and Commodities business lines including the FX customer portal.
  • You will be responsible for quarterly regulatory and referral reporting.
  • You will act as lead on Audit inquiries as well as regulatory requirements from Compliance.
  • You will continually develop professional competences and contribute to the corporate goals and ambitions of BOKF NA.
  • You will serve as back-up by performing daily tasks supporting the Commodity business such as trade validation, ad-hoc reporting, end-of-day checkout
  • You may perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance of Accounting and 5-7 years of middle office experience dealing with energy options or equivalent financial/operations analysis and industry related experience of 8-10 years.

SKILLS:

  • Preference for past experience in the energy industry and for a general understanding of the natural gas business (locations, pipelines, storage, pricing methodologies, etc.)
  • Excellent computer skills, including database applications.  Highly proficient in all Microsoft applications, especially Excel, and competence in creating reports, especially pivot tables
  • Knowledge of Openlink Endur software a strong plus
  • Strong written documentation abilities
  • Ability to analyze data and complex concepts and communicate to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.  Can prioritize multiple assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines on a daily basis.  Comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in a dynamic setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Works effectively both as a manager and a team member.
