Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for managing the risk of  institutional and retail (BOK Investment Center) fixed income trading activity and ensures compliance with regulations while producing an acceptable return on investment to the bank.  Primary management responsibilities include management of overall risk position in the bank’s trading account, interactive idea generation for sales staff, and ensuring compliance for trading activity.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will provide trading strategies, ideas, and inventory for institutional and retail sales staff; evaluate the risk/reward characteristics of large investments and make appropriate purchase/sale decisions with regard to changing market conditions.
  • You will ensure customers are provided sound and timely investment recommendations concerning market trends, suitability, pricing, and timing of transactions.
  • You will develop and maintain overall trading strategies and hedge positions for the trading desk; identify, develop, and recommend revisions of internal standards, policies, operating procedures, and new programs to improve efficiency; provide staff with clear and concise written guidelines.
  • You will oversee the selection of and maintain relationships with broker/dealers.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, MSRB Series 52 and Series 53 licensing, and 7-10 years fixed income trading experience or 13-16 years equivalent work experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of  fixed income securities
  • Advanced knowledge of macroeconomics
  • Advanced knowledge of financial markets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver persuasive oral and written reports and projections
  • Excellent PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent developmental and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under extreme pressures with strict time frames
