Job Description
The Manager, Loss Mitigation is responsible for strategic oversight and execution of all loss mitigation functions within BOK Financial Mortgage, including loan modifications, repayment plans, special forbearance, deed-in-lieu, and short sale activities. This leader ensures full compliance with investor, regulatory, and legal requirements, proactively monitoring updates to maintain current and effective practices. The Manager will lead the development and refinement of internal and investor-facing reporting tools to track performance, identify operational risks, and optimize outcomes, including minimizing compensatory fees and maximizing incentive opportunities. This role also fosters strong relationships with investor groups and regulatory agencies to support alignment and transparency. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the loss mitigation team, ensuring staff are equipped with the training, resources, and support needed to succeed. This includes establishing key performance indicators (KPIs), implementing corrective action plans when necessary, and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will ensure loss mitigation activities comply with investor guidelines, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and applicable laws while maintaining accurate and timely borrower and investor communications.
- You will monitor operational performance, processes, and reporting to improve efficiency and strengthen financial results.
- You will drive strategies that maximize incentive revenue and reduce fee-related risk through quality control and performance oversight.
- You will identify and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks by maintaining effective controls and strong execution standards.
- You will lead, coach, and develop team members while overseeing performance management and professional growth.
- You will establish key performance metrics, implement corrective actions, and guide the resolution of complex account situations.
- You will represent the department with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining industry relationships and awareness of market developments.
Education & Experience Requirements
This role typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, along with 11–15 years of experience in conventional and government mortgage loss mitigation, including at least 7 years in a supervisory capacity. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with 18–20 years of equivalent work experience in the field.
- Advanced Knowledge of Loss Mitigation & Collections: Deep expertise in mortgage collections and loss mitigation strategies, including loan modifications, repayment plans, and foreclosure alternatives.
- Investor Guidelines Expertise: Strong understanding of FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, and VA loan modification requirements and servicing protocols.
- Mortgage Documentation Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage documents and their role in default servicing and resolution.
- Servicing Operations Insight: Advanced understanding of the mortgage servicing lifecycle, with emphasis on default and loss mitigation processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in PC-based tools and software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows-based systems. Ability to analyze data and generate performance reports.
- Communication & Analytical Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, paired with strong mathematical and analytical skills for evaluating performance and risk.
- Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage conflict, promote collaboration, and drive results through effective performance management.
- Customer Service & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, borrower engagement, and negotiation strategies. Experience in training and mentoring staff.
- Risk Management Expertise: Solid understanding of risk management principles and their application in operational, regulatory, and financial contexts.
