Job Description

The Wealth Management Services (WMS) Operations Manager – Corporate Actions and Income Processing is primarily responsible for all aspects of management over the Corporate Actions and Income Processing team. You will provide leadership and oversight in daily operations, metric reporting, process improvement and the managing of compliance and risk exposure ensuring operational processes are executed accurately and efficiently while adhering to governing body regulations and achieving service level objectives. The team you manage handles corporate action processing, Income Processing, Class Action Processing, Proxy Processing and Tax Relief / Reclaim Processing. This position works with senior management to resolve high impact issues requiring urgent and immediate resolution.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will manage assigned personnel, determine work priorities, recommend additions and/or changes to staffing; exercise usual authority of a manager concerning performance reviews, salaries, discipline, counseling, incentives and terminations, provide staff with clear concise guidelines and provides performance feedback related to internal standards.
  • You will be responsible for department operations, provides solutions to complex problems which require judgment and handling beyond staff experience and knowledge, review internal policies, operating procedures, and programs to ensure efficiency and recommends/implements new programs or enhancements as necessary.
  • You will minimize operational losses and market exposure through effective internal controls, ensures internal work procedures are consistent with departmental and overall divisional goals and objectives, resolves technical problems related to work and equipment, partner with other departments and vendors and ensures department processes and procedures meet customer needs.
  • You will work with Corporate Compliance and Audit to ensure compliance with governing regulatory guidelines. compiles and generates monthly reports for senior management review, define annual department objectives, develop operating plan, prepare management reports, expense reports, budget variances, operational statistics and quality reports.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Accounting, or Finance with 10-12 years of directly related experience in Wealth Management Operations, Securities and/or cash processing, and/or Back Office in Securities Operations. As well as, at least 2 years of experience in a management capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred candidates will also have their Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP) designation from the ABA and / or the Certified Trust Operations Professional (CTOP) designation from Cannon.
