Job Description

The Investment Sales Officer I  is primarily responsible for providing support back up execution of the customer investment securities transactions; provides customer services for non-trade execution related banking functions, utilizing appropriate system applications in the tracking of customer contacts with other areas of the bank to ensure that calls are recorded in the system; assumes responsibility for marketing and distributing investment securities in order to ensure profitability and satisfy customer needs; provides advice to customers on securities purchases by informing them of current market trends and recommending appropriate investment strategies; develops and maintains customer relations with existing and prospective investors; keeps informed of security market trends, compliance, and regulatory issues as well as customer needs.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will develop customer relationships and work together to ensure appropriate investment strategies
  • You will work to learn and understand products and prepare customer presentations of your data and research 
  • You will work with Investment/Sales Officers to establish customer security 
  • You will attend sales meetings and continued education 

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years experience in fixed income securities sales or 7-8 years equivalent work experience; MSRB Series 52 or NASD Series 7 licensing and series 63 license required.

  • Working knowledge of primary investment markets, products, and services and the ability to determine specific customer needs, implement strategies, and offer products to meet those needs
  • Working knowledge of bank commercial products and services
  • Basic knowledge of income tax and estate tax matters
  • Basic knowledge of taxable and tax-free bond sales
  • Excellent PC skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Excellent customer relations and sales skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
