About the Role

You’ll enjoy connecting the dots and keeping everything organized in this fast-paced role. When a loan closing takes place in the branch, you’ll pull the collateral docs and make sure they are accurate, signed, and filed correctly. You’ll check personal information and ensure the loan is submitted for processing.

You’ll make sure all the documents are submitted correctly and work with the loan officer if there are any issues. The time line to completion is within 10 days. 

What You Can Expect

Collateral service is comprised of two different segments - lien reporting and pay processing.

The Collateral Services Department reviews all collateral documents for loans in ALS and ACBS to perfect collateral and execute a release of collateral after they report as closed. They collaborate with the Consumer and Commercial Sales team, Consumer Loan Processing and Title Companies to secure and release collateral. 

Cross training will allow you to learn all functions within the department. Your career is what you make it. As you gain knowledge and experience you can move up within the department.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You’ll determine appropriate actions to be taken to ensure proper release of all collateral items.
  • You’ll analyze commitment/loan worksheets, note, loan and security agreements for lien release/paid-in-full transactions including renewals and/or collateral amendments.
  • You’ll seek solution to avoid potential collateral lien weaknesses.
  • You’ll ensure proper approval of loans and adherence to policies to ensure loans are closed in exact accordance with the approved commitment.
  • You’ll enter all follow-ups and exceptions into the WITS exception tracking system.

We'd Like to Talk to You

CONSUMER & COMMERCIAL LENDING: You are familiar with consumer and commercial lending policies, including lien recording/release requirements for multiple states.

FAIR CREDIT POLIICY: You’re familiar with Uniform Commercial Code, Regulation B, C, Z, RESPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other federal and state regulations on lending and consumer compliance.

DETAIL ORIENTED: Your accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role to ensure a smooth closing for all parties involved with minimal risk to the Bank.

COLLABORATIVE: You enjoy working in teams and across departments with proficiency to follow-up and follow-through.

COMMUNICATION: You’ll need exceptional verbal and written communication to express yourself clearly and concisely.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through an Associate’s Degree in Business along with 3 or more years of experience in loan processing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
