Job Description

The Investment Operations Settlement Specialist II job makes timely and accurate settlements on all book entry government, municipal and/or corporate security transactions and will independently handle the most complex settlement issues, relying on management only for general policy guidance or financial approvals; researches and acts to remedy any discrepancies; balances all activity and initiates incoming and outgoing wires; ensures settlement of trades involving delivery of physical, restricted, or closely held securities; monitors status of any failing or rejected trades on a daily basis, taking action to prevent risk of loss; trains new personnel on settlement procedures.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will have daily contact with both internal and external contacts to verify transactions, money accounts, and any information necessary for problem resolution.
  • You will work closely with industry contacts professionally and effectively to gain consensus among parties with conflicting interests and find common ground.
  • You will be responsible for the documentation from the client, brokers, and legal counsel to ensure that good delivery can be made.
  • You will balance all activity and initiate incoming and outgoing wires timely.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through an Associate’s Degree and 2-3 years securities operations experience in a brokerage or financial institution; or 5-6 years of work related experience.
