The Portfolio Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for the customer support of all portfolio related functions for approximately 150 different clients, which includes the input and processing of all purchases and sales transactions, building and verifying security builds on the system, pledging and releasing of all non-custody items for bond accounting customers, preparing spreadsheets for repo collateral pledging to fund our CT Trading Desk.  Provides backup to the Portfolio Accounting Administrator and various other duties as assigned.


  1. Processes all daily work for bond accounting customers. Input of purchases, sales, pledging for non-custody holdings. This involves building securities, updating and correcting of security files.
  2. Assist customers with general ledger questions concerning the bond accounting reports. Assist the customers with any bond accounting report discrepancies, possible outages, make any necessary corrections
  3. Reviews generated reports for bond accounting customers for current month’s custody purchases, sales, calls, to insure trades interface with bond accounting reports properly, with correct intention code. Verify securities coming through the gateway are built properly.
  4. Processing Safekeeping Statement and Open Position report for audit requests, from both internal and external customers.
  5. Performs admin responsibilities on the Portal Website for Safekeeping and Investment Portfolio customers.
  6. Prepare Excel spreadsheets for repo pricing customers, listing current market values on pledged repo holdings.

  • Excellent organizational and decision making skills
  • Excellent PC, word processing, and spreadsheet skills

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school and 3-5 years’ experience in an investment or safekeeping securities operations environment or 6-8 years’ equivalent work experience.
