Job Description
The Portfolio Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for the customer support of all portfolio related functions for approximately 150 different clients, which includes the input and processing of all purchases and sales transactions, building and verifying security builds on the system, pledging and releasing of all non-custody items for bond accounting customers, preparing spreadsheets for repo collateral pledging to fund our CT Trading Desk. Provides backup to the Portfolio Accounting Administrator and various other duties as assigned.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will process daily bond accounting tasks, including inputting purchases, sales, and pledging for non-custody holdings.
- You will assist customers with general ledger questions and resolve bond accounting report discrepancies.
- You will review and verify monthly custody reports to ensure proper trade interfacing and correct intention codes.
- You will process Safekeeping Statements and Open Position reports for audit requests from internal and external customers.
- You will perform administrative tasks on the Portal Website and prepare Excel spreadsheets for repo pricing customers.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a competent and professional manner
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational and decision making skills
- Excellent PC, word processing, and spreadsheet skills
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school and 3-5 years’ experience in an investment or safekeeping securities operations environment or 6-8 years’ equivalent work experience.
