The Senior Assistant Banking Center Manager is primarily responsible for assisting the Banking Center Manager and leading a team of employees (minimum of two FTE or the equivalent in the Teller role) to ensure that the banking center meets production and performance goals.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Supervision: Exercise the usual authority of an assistant manager over direct reports (Tellers) concerning staffing, scheduling, performance appraisals, coaching, and corrective action, promotions, and employee salary recommendations. Conducting regular service skills review meetings, employee cross-training and promoting regular employee feedback. Assists in the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and development of direct reports.
  2. Operations Oversight: Manage the day-to-day branch teller and client service operations including research and resolution of the most complex problems. Direct and supervise work flow of operations of the Banking Center to achieve or exceed stated business objectives. Assume day-to-day management responsibility in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  3. Client Experience: Ensures account retention through quality customer service, sales and referrals by setting individual and team goals, conducting regular service skills review meetings, employee cross-training and promoting regular employee feedback.
  4. Business Development: Assist the Branch Manager in developing and implementing a program for consumer business development and sales promotion for the assigned branch. Provide leadership for the in-branch consumer sales activities. Prepare materials for meetings and encourages staff participation.
  5. Production: Perform the required duties to open new deposit accounts, completes consumer loan applications, and closes consumer loans, providing quality client service.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Advanced knowledge of consumer financial products and services (full knowledge of core banking center financial products and working knowledge of non-core products such as: mortgage, investment, business banking, treasury)
  • Strong knowledge of retail sales operations and bank operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills, sales and client relations skills
  • Ability to motivate others, provide leadership and coaching for improved performance, and demonstrate good team building skills
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in order to reconcile accounts
  • Good PC application skills including word processing and spreadsheet packages and other various systems
This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of an Associate's degree in a business related field and 2 – 4 years of related experience in a financial institution or equivalent experience of 5+ years of related experience (prefer prior supervisory/management experience).
