Job Description

We are seeking a Technical Product Owner to lead our Center for Enablement Integration team. This position will be leading an agile team that will involve a blend of creating new integrations from scratch and migrating and modernizing existing integrations. This role will be responsible for helping to strategize, guide development work, and govern back-end integrations.

We are looking for a technical PO to be the team’s first line of defense, to shelter the team from distractions, understand the broad landscape and provide prioritization to the team, coordinate all the moving pieces to allow the team to focus on doing. Also be the face and champion of the team, evangelizing and educating others on the who, what, where, when, how, why of the teams. Plus, story writing, roadmaps, all that fun stuff.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will be responsible for developing a business case that clearly communicates the advantages of the integration strategy to the organization.
  • You’ll guide an agile team to develop a product vision and strategy, transform business objectives into actionable strategies and user stories, prioritize tasks, and manage the systems integration roadmap.
  • You will convey the business advantages of APIs using domain-specific, comprehensible language, after understanding the organization and its landscape.
  • You will evaluate the effects of new features and initiatives based on customer requirements and the range of services offered.
  • As an ambassador for your products, you will support queries, engage with teams to promote service use, enhancing technology delivery speed, predictability, and component reusability.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 2-3 years of technical experience. Additional experience can be used in lieu of a degree. Technology or architecture certifications are preferred. It is also preferred that the candidate have Banking and Financial Service experience. Experience with Agile (Scrum, Lean, Kanban, etc.) or SDLC methodologies.

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical product owner in an agile environment, ideally in digital or financial services
  • Must have technical knowledge of APIs, and/or experience with APIs themselves (i.e., postman, logrocket, coding, SQL for querying logs)
  • Experience with Agile values, principles, and methodologies
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills across all levels of the organization and a spirit of building strong business and team partnerships are essential, including ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people
  • Well-organized and thorough approach; able to structure, analyze, and answer major business questions, balancing multiple requests and competing priorities
  • Adaptable and able to drive results in a dynamic, fast paced, cross-functional environment; self-sufficient and collaborative team player with desire to have fun within a result-driven organization
  • Previous technical experience as a backend developer/programmer a plus
  • Working knowledge of simple to complex job scheduling systems and how to create job schedules. Complex job scheduling systems would include systems which run processes for the entire enterprise.
