Business Analyst III

The Business Analyst III is primarily responsible for defining and performing analysis, design, scripting, documentation, planning, and deployment of systems software and procedures which require complex technical and systems knowledge; has understanding of Project Management Methodology and is able to manage, estimate, and apply testing for complex projects; provides day-to-day support, change control, and severity notification for applications systems.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analytical Skills: Writes business requirements including data retention specs, report definition, and data security requirements for complex projects. Writes functional requirements including data access and retention specs, and report definition for complex projects. Provides complex business process modeling. Provides project estimates for complex projects and enhancements. Reads and restarts job scheduling needs. Sets up 5+ complex jobs and dependencies.
  2. Application Support Skills: Applies business application patches and releases. Diagnoses and remediates problems. Performs root cause analysis.Executes Disaster Recovery processes. Develops and maintains application documentation. Completes application configuration of complex control files. Installs desktop clients. Creates, presents, and manages Change Controls. Creates and manages Severity Notifications and delivers communications to lines of business during an incident. Tracks and remediates metrics and trends of application performance. Maintains incident management playbooks for assigned applications.
  3. Technical Skills: Creates reports from database repositories. Performs queries. Performs complex production deployments.
  4. Project Management Skills: Manages moderately complex projects using bank’s existing methodology, artifacts, funding, etc. Performs testing on complex projects and enhancements. Develops test cases for Systems Integration Testing.
  5. Relationship Management Skills: Manages the relationship between Information Technology and the Line of Business supervisory (Officer, AVP), management level (AVP, VP), and senior management level (VP, SVP). Prioritizes line of business and/or Executive Funding Committee (EFC) projects and enhancement requests. Influences or sets the strategy and vision for the line of business. Participates in annual planning and estimating.
  6. Enterprise Architecture Skills: Defines and employs Information Technology Governance policies. Employs architecture methodologies. Employs SOA Governance policies. Conducts research on application domains to stay current with industry trends. Employs Information Technology and Information Security standards.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science or 5+ years related experience or 7+ years in bank operations.
