About the Role

You'll be administering a comprehensive quality control program and analyzing loan documents to determine if the loans meet regulatory guidelines set forth by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HDMA) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). You'll collaborate with various departments regarding the application of s Consumer Laws and Regulations and obtain a minimum of a "Satisfactory" Lending rating when examined by the OCC or CFPB.

What You Can Expect

You'll use your judgment to review loan documents to determine if the loan meets regulatory guidelines and ensure loans that benefit the credit need of the community served by affiliate banks are accurately reported to the Federal Reserve Board . You will work with Lenders to obtain additional information needed for regulatory reporting purposes. You'll educate Lenders about HMDA and CRA requirements. You'll verify quality control through comprehensive audits and submit quarterly mock submissions with supporting documentation of all CRA, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and ensure no loans are omitted.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You'll stay current on CRA/HMDA compliance issues and updates and inform ERU managers on new products and loans, which may be captured and reported as CRA or HMDA concerns.
  • You'll work on special projects and perform targeted audits.
  • You'll review data maintained in the database and resolve errors and technology issues to assure the correctness of written documentation as required by Federal Examiners. 

 

We'd Like to Talk to You

CREDIT APTITUDE: You have advanced knowledge of credit underwriting and loan activities, including an understanding of common credit products, delivery mechanisms, and operational practices.

LENDING: You have advanced knowledge of the Community Development Act and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and working knowledge of the, Fair Housing Act, Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices, Truth in Lending and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. Thorough understanding of commercial and/or small business, consumer lending, loan documentation, and loan servicing requirements.

TECH SAVVY: You have knowledge and experience with Wolters Kluwer Financial Services CRAWiz software.

COMMUNICATION: You'll need exceptional verbal and written communication to express yourself clearly and concisely

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s degree in a business related field and 3-4 years’ experience in the financial institutions regulatory and compliance field or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
