Job Description

The Cavanal Hill Business Analyst is primarily responsible for defining and performing analysis, design, planning, and implementation of systems software and supporting vendor and proprietary database systems and technology associated with implementing and maintaining client software and systems. Additionally, this position requires an extensive technical and systems knowledge; manages, plans, organizes, and controls projects which have a significant organizational impact and provides day-to-day support for very complex applications systems.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will design, plan, support, test, and implement complex systems software and programs; research and define problem functions involving existing systems and programs and the interfaces and subsystems which integrate these applications; develop and review input and output requirements and recommend appropriate design to meet those requirements; define program specifications and flowcharts for use in coding and documenting the system’s software programs; develop internal controls and ensure that programs work together properly.
  • You will implement the logical and physical database design as prescribed by vendors in the installation and implementation of packaged software purchased, which includes device allocation and creation and running necessary scripts to create tables, indexes, triggers, views, rules, stored procedures, etc. Provide project management and business analysis support with vendor implementations. Consult with vendors, Technical Services, and users to ensure that the systems are implemented and performing in accordance with technical requirements and business needs.
  • You will provide day-to-day support for the operation of very complex application systems and their interfaces and subsystems by analyzing reports and outputs, system documentation, and user procedures and by reviewing input data and coordinating with multiple vendors and service providers when necessary.
  • You will maintain active relationships with management of assigned Trust departments, discussing progress, system modifications, and being proactive in locating additional development needs; provides consulting and technical guidance on complex development projects.
  • You will keep management informed of progress and issues, particularly as to needed changes in schedule, resources, or product status.
  • You may perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field and 4-6 years of experience in a business analyst or project management role; Or 8-12 years of equivalent work related experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable of general financial and market oriented business operations. Understanding of securities and market workflows in a high paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of relational database systems used in Client/Server and Web-Based Applications development for deployment across a Wide Area Network environment.
  • Knowledgeable of application development tools that use relational database and client/server technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of front end query systems, especially Structure Query Language and its vendor specific dialects.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling tools and techniques.
  • Development experience with at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) with a preference for C#.
