The (Enterprise) Cloud Architect is responsible for the design, development and deployment of BOKF’s cloud environment. The incumbent closely partners with business and IT stakeholders to improve infrastructure manageability, effectiveness, efficiency, and agility by assessing and leveraging cloud services and technologies to improve operational agility, improve the customer experience, lower long-term costs, and increase system resiliency. This role is accountable for assessing current state, identifying future state, identifying gaps between the states, and guiding change to reach the future state of cloud infrastructure capabilities. This individual develops enterprise-wide decision criteria to facilitate migrating internally hosted applications to cloud environment. Collaborates with senior business leaders and IT application teams to drive cloud adoption and demonstrates leadership ability by backing recommendations with research, articulating pros and cons of options. Additionally, this role is responsible for researching new cloud technologies looking for trends and opportunities to creatively support the needs of the enterprise in support of key strategic objectives.


  1. Cloud Solution Design, Development and Implementation: Effectively partners with line of business leaders to gain clear understanding of business needs. Identifies and provides guidance on cloud migration solutions. Designs and develops migration strategies. Leads the architecture development of solution roadmaps. Partners with key line of business and IT leaders to initiate work and allocate resources necessary for deployment of project roadmaps. Facilitates architecture review with architects in other domains, and identifies alternatives, or different approaches specific to digital, information management and big data solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborates with strategic  partners to review and influence product roadmaps, strategies, and plans to ensure alignment with BOKF’s needs, both current and future. Develops and manages BOKF Cloud Governance framework in partnership with Risk, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Development, and Infrastructure teams
  2. Developing Self and Others: Researches relevant industry, financial services and regulatory issues to build upon knowledge base, identifying trends and uses acquired knowledge to determine and recommend changes and modifications to established protocols and procedures


Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology/Science. Cloud solution certification such as AWS Solutions Architect Certification, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, IBM Cloud Computing Solution Architect, Cisco CCNA-Cloud, and Microsoft Cloud Certifications

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing and implementing cloud migration strategies using cloud data science tooling such as AWS, plus Hadoop, Spark, S3/Azure Blob Storage, and EMR/Azure Data Lake compute
  • 7 to 10 years of diverse IT work experience such as technical system support and/or network administration or 10-14 years of related experience in an enterprise IT engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience with DevOps pipeline tools and systems architectures (hardware, software, networking and databases)
  • Extensive experience with automation and orchestration of server technologies
  • Thorough understanding of Information Security frameworks and best practices
  • Experience with web-centric programming languages such Ruby and Python
  • Experience with agile development methods such as SCRUM, XP, and/or SAFe Agile
