Job Description

The IT Digital Product Owner will be responsible for taking new conceptual or existing digital initiatives from requirements gathering to completion by acting as a liaison between internal and external business partners and ensuring successful incorporation. This role will be a key contributor to the overall strategy and roadmap for the assigned digital platform(s) and applications and will be responsible for managing digital projects that contribute to the overall strategic initiatives for the digital platform(s) and applications.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will define MVP, establish release plans, and prepare a backlog of features and user stories.
  • You will collaborate with product managers and technology stakeholders to refine product requirements and functionality.
  • You will align feature prioritization within the product roadmap and work with scrum masters to ensure high-value delivery.
  • You will provide daily guidance to teams, refine user stories, and set acceptance criteria based on feedback and reviews.
  • You will prioritize and estimate the backlog, review and accept user stories, and drive UAT activities with teams.
  • You will communicate product strategy to the delivery team and update leadership on schedules, dependencies, and issues.
  • You will aim for incremental delivery, collaborate on new and existing features, and ensure best practices in product health monitoring.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field and 5+ years of experience in product management or 10+ years equivalent work experience. 

 

  • Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork; including the ability to foster/manage relationships across multiple departments and affiliates across in demographics / work environments.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and manage expectations of stakeholders, including customers, business stakeholders, vendors, and the development team.
  • Expertise working in an Agile environment with a strong understanding of the various processes in the SDLC.
  • Effective prioritization and swift decision-making skills to align product development with business objectives and user needs, ensuring successful project completion.
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies relevant to the product, as well as the ability to work closely with the development team and understand the technical aspects that influence product decisions.
  • Experience providing reports, project updates, and presentations directly to key stakeholders.
  • Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills to effectively handle projects in a fast-paced, high volume, and deadline intensive environment.
