Job Description

The Specialty Asset Team Lead provides leadership and direct supervision of specialty asset support staff, reporting for internal committees, business resumption plan owner, and works with manager of the mineral, real estate, or closely-held group.  Responsibilities include developing goals and objectives for specialty asset support staff, onboarding new employees, maintaining updated business resumption plan, vendor management reporting, reporting for internal committees, special projects such as monthly research and support, compliance, team market reviews.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will direct and manage department personnel, schedule work assignments, and handle personnel actions.
  • You will represent the department on special committees and projects and handle monthly reporting and approvals.
  • You will oversee fee processing, prepare financial reports, and manage fund disbursements.
  • You will manage the real property database, coordinate between departments, and support daily processing activities.
  • You will review property records for ownership information and assist with due diligence and property analysis.
  • You will coordinate maintenance and repairs, inspect properties, and ensure project accuracy and safety.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent and 5- 7 years’ experience, preferably within a trust, legal or investment environment or 6-7 years of equivalent experience and/or training. 

  • Excellent PC skills and knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of real estate practices, policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently in decision-making as it pertains to team development, training and team alignment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, plan and coordinate large number of ongoing tasks. 
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting practices and principles and regulatory policies regarding specialty assets held in a fiduciary capacity. 
  • Superior math and analytical skills with ability to improve efficiency, track complex activities and improve methodology.
