Job Description

The Sr. Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for the direct sales of financial products to businesses and institutional entities.  Primary BDO focus is to drive the market calling efforts to select prospects, sell bank services to key decision makers, and lead Institutional Wealth visibility at select trade functions and with professional advisors, consultants, and attorneys; as well as with internal market executives and calling officers.  The BDO sources new business through the disciplined management of a prospect data base, active networking, consistent review of Salesforce, and maintaining good relationships with key players in the industry segment.  The BDO works closely with team members to insure timely and consistent responses to formal requests for proposals.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will schedule continuous appointments with leads, prospects, and referral sources.
  • You will identify leads and prospects through database management and networking with key professionals.
  • You will maintain an aggressive marketing plan and focus on identifying opportunities and tailoring solutions.
  • You will maintain salesforce data, including call reports, account records, and merging duplicates.
  • You will organize and prepare responses to requests for proposals and deliver formal presentations.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of an advanced Business Bachelor’s Degree and 10 plus successful years in business development or at least 16 plus years experience in a related field.

  • Specialized expertise in the Institutional Wealth space particularly in key market segments.
  • Advanced knowledge of business development/sales practices which includes ability to move prospects to BOKF, ability to increase market share through excellent prospecting and partnering skills, advanced sales skills where aggressive goals must be met
  • Thorough knowledge of Treasury Management , Corporate Lending, Private Bank, Corporate Trust, BOSC, and other banking services in order to recognize opportunities for other areas of the bank.
  • Ability to research, recognize and problem solve; strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good computer skills, including word processing, power point, and spreadsheet applications
