Job Description

The Senior Mortgage Loan Processor is primarily responsible for obtaining, reconciling, and validating all required documentation for a Mortgage application as defined by specific product, Investor, and compliance guidelines. The senior processor is responsible for performing a thorough review of the file, including a thorough review of Federal, Investor, and Lender guidelines prior to submission to the underwriting department.  Processing is responsible for maintaining contact with all parties involved throughout the process, including but not limited to borrowers, realtors, vendors, and internal departmental communication. Processing is responsible for managing pipelines in order to meet closing and lock expiration dates. Maintain compliance with Regulation B Guidelines to provide timely decisions and the best customer service available in the market.  The Senior Processor will provide support to the Loan Processors at the direction of management.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will be the main point of contact for the borrower and be responsible for obtaining, reconciling, and validating all required documentation for a Mortgage application as defined by a specific product.
  • You will be monitoring the files in process for 30-day activity status to insure that Regulation B Guidelines are enforced on all files, including final evaluation after complex analysis of completed application package and preparing for approval.
  • You will input all appraisal information into the computer system to ensure that the underwriting department has all information to review and approve appraisal.
  • You will conduct a thorough review of underwriting conditions with the borrower prior to closing the loan. Upon approval, you or the mortgage banker will contact the borrower to give the approval and confirm closing date.
  • You will use your advanced knowledge of mortgage loan processing experience in supporting the processing team.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of advanced mortgage loan knowledge is normally acquired through high school and a minimum of 5 - 7 years of mortgage loan processing experience, which should include 6 years of prior operational support and/or loan documentation review experience in a mortgage lending institution or a real estate or title agency.
